Humminbird MEGA 360 Imaging 50 inch No Mount Transducer — Product description

The Humminbird MEGA 360 Imaging No Mount (50-inch shaft) is the MEGA 360 transducer with a 50-inch shaft assembly but without a bundled mounting solution, sized for owners who want to use a third-party mount or one of the Humminbird accessory mounting kits. 360-degree MEGA-frequency side imaging shows every detail in every direction around the boat, switchable between dedicated 360 Imaging mode and standard Side Imaging mode. Compatible with all SOLIX G2 and HELIX G3N models running MEGA Imaging+. Sharable over the Humminbird Ethernet network so other displays on the boat can view the same MEGA 360 imagery.

The Humminbird MEGA 360 Imaging - No Mount (model 411580-1) is the MEGA 360 Imaging transducer with a 50-inch shaft assembly, sold without a mounting bracket so you can pair it with your preferred mounting solution. The MEGA 360 transducer pod, the integrated 50-inch shaft, the power and transducer cables for both HELIX and SOLIX displays, but no mounting bracket. Pair with the Humminbird Ultrex MEGA 360 Hardware Kit, the MEGA 360 Ice Adapter, or a third-party mount of your choice. Compatible with all SOLIX G2 and HELIX G3N models running MEGA Imaging+ (MSI+ or MDI+).

What MEGA 360 Imaging actually does. The transducer pod sits below the waterline with the sonar transmitter rotating continuously through 360 degrees, sweeping the full circle around the boat. The result is a top-down photo-quality image of the bottom and structure in every direction around the boat, updating in real time as the transducer rotates. Compared to side imaging (which shows you the bottom out to either side of the boat as you move forward), MEGA 360 shows you everything around you simultaneously even when you're stationary. For Spot-Lock fishing on structure, for casting at suspended fish marks, and for working a specific area methodically, MEGA 360 changes how productively you can fish.

The MEGA frequency is what makes the imagery so detailed. MEGA Imaging operates around 1.2 MHz, which delivers much higher detail than the older 455 / 800 kHz scanning sonars that older fish finder transducers used. The trade-off is shorter range (MEGA frequencies attenuate faster in water), but for the typical inshore fishing range that MEGA 360 is sized for (out to about 100 feet from the boat), the higher detail wins.

Two sonar source options. 360 Imaging Mode is the rotating-pod default that shows the full circle around the boat. Side Imaging Mode reconfigures the same transducer as a fixed forward-facing side imaging source for traditional side-scan use. Switch between the two modes via the chartplotter menu based on what you're fishing. For methodical structure work, 360 mode. For underway searches over larger areas, Side Imaging mode.

The 50-inch shaft length is sized for the typical bass and walleye boat trolling motor depth. Long enough to keep the transducer pod safely below the trolling motor's prop wake at typical fishing depths, short enough to fit the typical bow-mount geometry of bass boats and bay boats. For very deep transducer-mount applications, the longer-shaft variant of MEGA 360 is available separately.

The No Mount designation means the bracket is not included. The right approach depends on your install: pair with the Humminbird Ultrex MEGA 360 Hardware Kit if you have an Ultrex trolling motor (the kit mounts the MEGA 360 directly on the Ultrex shaft for clean integration), pair with the MEGA 360 Ice Adapter for ice fishing applications (mounts on a tripod over an ice fishing hole for stationary 360 imaging), or use a third-party mount that fits your specific setup. The flexibility is what the No Mount variant exists for.

Compatibility. All Humminbird SOLIX G2 (and newer SOLIX G3) models with MEGA Imaging+ capability. All Humminbird HELIX G3N (and G4N) models with MEGA Imaging+ capability (MSI+ or MDI+). Older Humminbird models without MEGA Imaging+ are not compatible: MEGA 360 requires the head unit's MEGA processing pipeline to display the 360-degree imagery correctly. Confirm your fishfinder supports MEGA Imaging+ before ordering.

Ethernet network sharing is the multi-display capability. When the MEGA 360 is connected to a Humminbird Ethernet network (via the Humminbird Ethernet switch, sold separately), the 360 imagery can be shared with other compatible HELIX or SOLIX displays on the same network. Common config: the MEGA 360 connects to a SOLIX 12 at the bow for the trolling-motor angler's primary display, and the same imagery appears on a SOLIX 10 at the helm so the helmsperson can see what the bow angler is seeing. Network sharing means one MEGA 360 transducer serves multiple displays.

What's in the box. The 50-inch MEGA 360 Imaging pod and shaft assembly, the power cable for the MEGA 360 (10 feet), the HELIX transducer extension cable (10 feet, for connection to HELIX displays), and the SOLIX transducer extension cable (10 feet, for connection to SOLIX displays). The two extension cable types are included so the same product works with both HELIX and SOLIX install scenarios. The mounting bracket is NOT included (this is the No Mount variant).

Cable connector. The transducer side of the cable uses the Humminbird MEGA 360 connector. The display side uses the appropriate HELIX or SOLIX transducer connector via the included extension cable. 3-pin connector on one end and 14-pin on the other matching the MEGA 360 cable spec.

Installation. With the right mounting bracket (purchased separately), the install involves mounting the bracket to your trolling motor or other mount location, sliding the 50-inch shaft into the bracket and securing, routing the cables along the trolling motor or transducer mount up into the boat, and connecting at the chartplotter. For Ultrex installs with the Hardware Kit, the install integrates with the Ultrex shaft for a clean factory-style appearance.

Mount selection considerations. For Humminbird Ultrex trolling motor users, the Ultrex MEGA 360 Hardware Kit is the natural choice and gives you the cleanest install. For other trolling motor brands, third-party mounting solutions designed for the MEGA 360 transducer body are available from various marine accessory makers. For ice fishing, the MEGA 360 Ice Adapter is the right choice and lets you do 360 imaging through an ice fishing hole on a tripod-mounted setup.

What this isn't. It is not a complete kit with a mounting bracket (you supply the mount). It is not a Side Imaging only transducer (the MEGA 360 has both 360 mode and Side Imaging mode). It is not the MEGA Live live-scanning sonar (which is the forward-facing live-scan option, separate transducer). It is not compatible with older Humminbird MFDs without MEGA Imaging+ support.

Frequently asked questions

Why is no mount included?

This is the No Mount variant for owners who want to use a third-party mount or one of the Humminbird accessory mounting kits. Different anglers have different mounting needs: Ultrex trolling motor owners want the Ultrex MEGA 360 Hardware Kit for clean integration. Ice fishermen want the MEGA 360 Ice Adapter for tripod-mount over an ice hole. Other trolling motor brands need third-party mounting solutions. Selling the transducer without a bundled mount lets each owner pair with the right mount for their setup, vs. paying for a bundled mount they can't use.

What chartplotters is it compatible with?

All Humminbird SOLIX G2 and newer SOLIX G3 models with MEGA Imaging+ capability. All Humminbird HELIX G3N and G4N models with MEGA Imaging+ capability (MSI+ or MDI+). Older Humminbird models without MEGA Imaging+ aren't compatible: MEGA 360 requires the head unit's MEGA processing pipeline to display the 360-degree imagery correctly. Confirm your fishfinder supports MEGA Imaging+ before ordering.

What does MEGA 360 actually show me?

The transducer rotates 360 degrees continuously, sweeping the full circle around the boat. The chartplotter shows a top-down photo-quality image of the bottom and structure in every direction around the boat, updating in real time as the transducer rotates. Compared to side imaging (which shows you the bottom out to either side as you move forward), MEGA 360 shows you everything around you simultaneously even when you're stationary. Especially useful for Spot-Lock fishing on structure where you want to see what's around the boat from a fixed position.

What's the difference between 360 mode and Side Imaging mode?

360 mode is the rotating-pod default that shows the full circle around the boat with continuous 360-degree updates. Side Imaging mode reconfigures the same transducer as a fixed forward-facing side imaging source for traditional side-scan use as you move forward. Switch via the chartplotter menu based on what you're fishing. For methodical structure work from Spot-Lock, 360 mode. For underway searches over larger areas, Side Imaging mode.

How far does it see?

At MEGA frequencies (around 1.2 MHz), typical effective range is about 100 feet from the boat in clear water. Range varies with depth and water clarity. The MEGA frequency trade-off is shorter range than older 455 / 800 kHz transducers but much higher detail at the ranges it does cover. For inshore fishing where MEGA 360 lives, the 100-foot range is usually plenty.

What mount should I get?

Depends on your boat. For Humminbird Ultrex trolling motor users, the Ultrex MEGA 360 Hardware Kit is the natural choice for clean integration. For ice fishing, the MEGA 360 Ice Adapter mounts on a tripod over an ice hole. For other trolling motor brands, third-party mounting solutions designed for the MEGA 360 transducer body are available from various marine accessory makers. Confirm mount compatibility with your specific install before ordering.

Can I share the 360 imagery with multiple displays?

Yes, with the Humminbird Ethernet switch (sold separately). When the MEGA 360 is connected to a Humminbird Ethernet network, the 360 imagery can be shared with other compatible HELIX or SOLIX displays on the same network. Common config: MEGA 360 connects to a SOLIX 12 at the bow for the trolling-motor angler's primary display, and the same imagery appears on a SOLIX 10 at the helm. One transducer serves multiple displays.

What cables are included?

Three cables: the 10-foot MEGA 360 power cable, the 10-foot HELIX transducer extension cable, and the 10-foot SOLIX transducer extension cable. The two display-side extension cables are included so the same product works with both HELIX and SOLIX install scenarios. Use whichever extension cable matches your specific chartplotter generation.

What's the shaft length and is it adjustable?

50 inches, fixed (not adjustable). 50 inches is sized for the typical bass and walleye boat trolling motor depth: long enough to keep the transducer pod safely below the trolling motor's prop wake, short enough to fit typical bow-mount geometry. For very deep transducer-mount applications, the longer-shaft variant of MEGA 360 is available as a different SKU.

Will it work for ice fishing?

Yes, with the MEGA 360 Ice Adapter (sold separately). The Ice Adapter mounts the MEGA 360 transducer on an ice fishing tripod over an ice hole, and the 360 imaging delivers a stationary view of the bottom around the hole. For ice anglers fishing structure, MEGA 360 ice fishing is genuinely transformative because you can see fish moving toward and away from the hole in real time.

What's in the box?

The 50-inch MEGA 360 Imaging pod and shaft assembly with attached cables, the 10-foot MEGA 360 power cable, the 10-foot HELIX transducer extension cable, and the 10-foot SOLIX transducer extension cable. The mounting bracket is NOT included (this is the No Mount variant. pair with the Ultrex MEGA 360 Hardware Kit, the MEGA 360 Ice Adapter, or a third-party mount).

What's the warranty?

Standard 1-Year Limited Humminbird warranty. Service runs through the Humminbird authorized dealer network in the U.S.
