Humminbird MEGA 360 Imaging for Ultrex / Ultrex QUEST — Product description

The Humminbird MEGA 360 Imaging transducer for Ultrex and Ultrex QUEST trolling motors gives you a continuous 360-degree picture-quality view of fish, structure, and bottom around the entire boat. Mounts independently on the Ultrex bow-mount trolling motor (or the QUEST brushless variant), so the MEGA 360 image stays oriented to the boat regardless of which way you steer the trolling motor or whether you're holding Spot-Lock. Two operation modes (MEGA 360 Imaging or MEGA Side Imaging from the same transducer). 39-inch transducer shaft, anodized aluminum mounting bracket, all required cabling included (10-foot SOLIX transducer cable, 10-foot HELIX adapter cable, 10-foot power cable).</p>

The Humminbird MEGA 360 Imaging transducer for Ultrex and Ultrex QUEST (part 411830-1) is the bow-mount add-on transducer that gives Ultrex-equipped bass and walleye boats a continuous 360-degree picture-quality view of fish, structure, and bottom around the entire boat. The transducer mounts to the Ultrex (or QUEST brushless variant) trolling motor via the included anodized aluminum bracket, with the transducer shaft hanging below the motor head independently of the motor's prop assembly. The result: the 360-degree sonar image stays correctly oriented to the boat regardless of which way you steer the trolling motor and regardless of whether you're holding Spot-Lock against wind and current. Continuous 360 view, never interrupted by trolling motor turns.

What MEGA 360 Imaging actually shows. The transducer rotates continuously (you'll hear it as a soft sweep noise underneath the boat) sending high-frequency MEGA-CHIRP sonar pulses out around the boat in a complete 360-degree pattern. The compatible HELIX, SOLIX, or APEX head unit assembles the returns into a top-down picture-quality image showing structure (laydowns, brush piles, dock pilings, weed lines), fish (individual marks at any depth in the boat's surrounding cone), and bottom contour - all radiating outward from the boat's position at the center of the screen. The view updates several times per minute as the transducer completes each sweep. Range typically 75-125 feet outward depending on water depth and clarity.

Why mount it on the trolling motor independently. The earlier-generation MEGA 360 transducer mounted on the trolling motor barrel where it rotated WITH the motor as you steered. Result: the sonar image rotated on the screen every time you turned the trolling motor, which made it hard to track structure orientation. The Ultrex Quest variant mounts on a fixed bracket that doesn't rotate with the trolling motor head - the transducer stays pointing the same way regardless of which way the motor is steered. The 360-degree image stays north-up (or boat-up, depending on the screen orientation setting) consistently. Much easier to use for active fishing where you're frequently turning the trolling motor.

Two operation modes. The 411830-1 transducer can run in either MEGA 360 Imaging mode (the rotating top-down view described above) or MEGA Side Imaging mode (the more familiar side-imaging horizontal view to either side of the boat). Switch modes from the head unit menu based on the fishing situation. Some anglers run MEGA 360 Imaging for active casting around the boat and switch to MEGA Side Imaging when running over structure to map a longer linear bottom track. Same transducer hardware, two display modes selectable on demand.

Compatible HELIX G3N and G4N MEGA SI+ / DI+ models. The list of HELIX models that support MEGA 360 Imaging from this transducer is specific - it requires the MEGA Imaging+ generation HELIX G3N or G4N units. Compatible HELIX models include HELIX 8, 9, 10, 12, and 15 in the MEGA SI+ GPS G4N or G3N variants, plus the MEGA DI+ variants in 9, 10, 12, and 15. Older HELIX units without MEGA Imaging+ support don't run the 360 Imaging mode (those can still use the transducer in side-imaging mode but won't display the rotating 360 view).

Compatible APEX and SOLIX models. All current APEX and SOLIX G2 and G3 units support MEGA 360 Imaging from this transducer. APEX is Humminbird's flagship touchscreen line. SOLIX is the established touchscreen line. For boats running APEX or SOLIX as the primary fish finder, the MEGA 360 Imaging view appears alongside the rest of the sonar suite (Dual Spectrum CHIRP, MEGA Side Imaging, MEGA Down Imaging, and chart) on the touchscreen.

Compatible trolling motors. Ultrex and Ultrex QUEST trolling motors specifically. The 411830-1 transducer is engineered with the bracket geometry and mounting interface for the Ultrex platform's bow mount design. For other trolling motors (PowerDrive, Terrova, etc.), this specific transducer SKU isn't the right fit - check the Humminbird MEGA 360 transducer line for the variant that matches your specific trolling motor.

What's in the box. Ultrex bow-mount MEGA 360 Imaging transducer with attached power cable and transducer cable. 10-foot SOLIX transducer cable (for SOLIX / APEX network connection). 10-foot HELIX transducer adapter cable (for HELIX direct-connect). 10-foot MEGA 360 power cable. Easy-to-mount MEGA 360 Imaging - Ultrex mounting bracket (anodized aluminum). Install instructions. Trolling motor sold separately.

Network sharing. Once connected to a compatible HELIX G3N MEGA Imaging+ or SOLIX G2 unit, the MEGA 360 Imaging view can be shared with all SOLIX, all HELIX G2N, and all HELIX G3N units on the boat's Ethernet network. So a multi-display helm with one bow-mount unit running 360 plus a console-mount unit can both see the 360 view simultaneously.

Customizable display. Sweep speed (faster vs. slower rotation), viewing area (full 360 or partial sector), display information (range rings, distance markers, target counts), sonar zoom, and color palette - all customizable to your specific fishing situation and preferences. Most anglers spend a session or two figuring out their preferred settings, then leave them alone.

Range rings. Optional range rings overlay distance markers on the 360 Imaging screen so you can see how far targets are from the boat. Useful for translating screen position to actual cast distance: target at 50 feet on the screen = aim a 50-foot cast in that direction.

Waypoint marking. Mark waypoints directly on the MEGA 360 Imaging screen with a touch (or button press, depending on the head unit). The waypoint stays at the marked GPS coordinate as your boat moves, so you can reposition and cast to the marked spot from a different angle. Useful for marking individual fish you spotted on the 360 view to come back to after the current presentation.

Pair with multiple sonar views. View MEGA 360 Imaging alongside MEGA Side Imaging, MEGA Down Imaging, Dual Spectrum CHIRP 2D, and chart in multi-pane layouts on the head unit. The 360 view is one tool in the broader Humminbird sonar suite, not a replacement for the other views.

Specs. Transducer shaft length: 39 inches (matches typical Ultrex shaft submersion). Weight: 12 lb. Mounting bracket material: anodized aluminum (corrosion-resistant for marine environment). Cable lengths: 10 ft SOLIX, 10 ft HELIX adapter, 10 ft power.

2-year limited Humminbird warranty. Same-day shipping before 3 PM ET on in-stock units.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between MEGA 360 and MEGA Side Imaging?

MEGA Side Imaging shows a horizontal view to either side of the boat as you drive over water - the screen reads as a scrolling history of what passed beside the boat. MEGA 360 Imaging shows a continuous top-down view all around the boat (front, back, left, right) at the boat's current position. The transducer rotates continuously to sweep the 360 view. MEGA 360 is what you want when you're stationary or slow-moving and need to see what's around the boat. MEGA Side Imaging is what you want when you're driving over water surveying structure along your track.

Will it work with my Ultrex / Ultrex QUEST?

The 411830-1 transducer is engineered specifically for Ultrex and Ultrex QUEST trolling motors. Same mounting bracket geometry and same install procedure for both. For other trolling motor brands and models (PowerDrive, Terrova, etc.), this specific transducer SKU isn't the right fit - the Humminbird MEGA 360 transducer line includes other variants with different mounting brackets for those trolling motors.

Will it work with my fish finder?

Compatible HELIX models: HELIX 8 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, plus HELIX 9, 10, 12, and 15 in the MEGA SI+ GPS or MEGA DI+ GPS G3N or G4N variants. Compatible APEX models: all of them. Compatible SOLIX models: all G2 and G3 variants. Older HELIX units without MEGA Imaging+ support don't run the 360 Imaging mode but can still use the transducer in side-imaging mode.

Why mount it independently of the trolling motor head?

The earlier-generation MEGA 360 transducer mounted on the trolling motor barrel where it rotated WITH the motor as you steered, which made the 360 image rotate on the screen every time you turned the trolling motor. The Ultrex Quest variant mounts on a fixed bracket that doesn't rotate with the trolling motor head - the transducer stays pointing the same way regardless of which way you steer the motor. The 360 image stays consistently oriented (north-up or boat-up depending on screen setting) for much easier use during active fishing.

Does it work in Spot-Lock?

Yes, and that's one of the main use cases. The Spot-Lock mode keeps the boat anchored on a GPS waypoint while the trolling motor automatically thrusts and steers to maintain position. With the MEGA 360 transducer mounted independently, the 360 image stays oriented correctly to the boat (and to the world) even as the trolling motor swings around to fight wind and current. So you keep getting the full 360 view while you're working the spot.

What's the range?

Typically 75-125 feet outward from the boat depending on water depth and clarity. The high-frequency MEGA pulses give the picture-quality detail at shorter range. For longer-range structure surveying, switch to traditional CHIRP or to the MEGA Side Imaging mode which has slightly longer effective range at the lower-detail trade-off.

How fast does it sweep?

The transducer rotates continuously at user-adjustable speed. Faster sweep means quicker updates to the 360 image but with slightly less per-pulse detail. Slower sweep means more detail per pulse but slower update rate. Adjust the sweep speed setting based on whether you're tracking moving fish (faster sweep) or surveying static structure (slower sweep for max detail).

How do I install it?

The included Ultrex-specific anodized aluminum mounting bracket attaches to the trolling motor at the bracket-specific install location (per the supplied install instructions). The transducer hangs below on its 39-inch shaft. Route the transducer cable up the trolling motor shaft (cable management clips included) and connect to the head unit using either the included SOLIX cable or the HELIX adapter cable depending on which head unit you're using. Connect the power cable to the boat's 12V system through an appropriate fuse. Total install time is typically 1-2 hours for someone with reasonable mechanical skill.

Does the trolling motor still work normally?

Yes. The transducer mount is engineered to not interfere with the Ultrex's normal steering, foot pedal operation, Spot-Lock, AutoPilot, or any other trolling motor function. The trolling motor steers and operates exactly as it did before installing the transducer. The transducer cable routing is designed to flex with normal trolling motor motion without binding or chafing.

Can I share the view across multiple displays?

Yes, on a multi-display helm. Once connected to a compatible HELIX G3N MEGA Imaging+ or SOLIX G2 unit, the MEGA 360 Imaging view can be shared with all SOLIX, all HELIX G2N, and all HELIX G3N units on the boat's Ethernet network. Useful when you have one display at the bow and another at the helm and want both to see the 360 view simultaneously.

What range rings do?

Optional range rings overlay distance markers on the 360 Imaging screen so you can see how far targets are from the boat. Useful for translating screen position to actual cast distance: a target at 50 feet on the screen tells you to aim a 50-foot cast in that direction. The range rings are toggle-able from the menu - on for the visual reference, off for a cleaner unobstructed view.

What's the warranty?

2-year limited Humminbird warranty. Service runs through the Humminbird authorized service network in the U.S.
